Reportage LCI - The carsharing is a service dedicated to the residents of the municipalities. This device lakes it possible to open-up the rural areas and save costs.
Thiébauménil (Meurthe-et-Moselle) has 380 residents. In this village, there is no trade and almost non public transport. For every daily activity, you need to take a car. But for a month, instead of the traditionnal car, a new alternative has been attracting the residents : a self-service electric car that they can reserve at a time slot of their choice.
This car service scheme makes it possible saving cost of maintaining a second car. This is a new initiative in rural areas. A total of 42 vehicles are available for 43 towns and villages of the Territory of Luneville at Baccarat.
